DIPLOMA OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION (ICT50315)

The Diploma of Information Technology Systems Administration equips you with the key skills and knowledge to help kick-start your career as an Assistant IT Manager, Assistant Systems Manager or Systems Administrator. Covering IT professional practice, systems maintenance, network solutions, applied Java programming and more – you’ll gain the essential tools and confidence to manage a variety of IT systems.

There are no pre-requisites and this course is eligible for VET FEE-HELP, so you can study now and pay later.  If you prefer a practical approach to learning then this is a suitable course for you.

After completing this course you will be awarded the ICA50315 Diploma of Information Technology Systems Administration.

Just because you’re learning online, it doesn’t mean you’re on your own. At Ivy, we offer supplementary learning support through our optional interactive webinars.

Designed specifically around your study plan, these regular online webinars cover subject specific content and provide an opportunity to interact with trainers, study coaches and your study peers in an online forum. Focusing on course theory and specific assessment tasks – each interactive support webinar is designed to equip you with the practical tools to help complete your course.

While not a compulsory part of the course, the interactive webinars are designed for those students who would like additional support.

Trainer Support 

At Ivy we believe there’s no such thing as too much support.

Your experienced trainer is available to support you at every stage of the course. Upon enrolment you will be contacted directly by your trainer for a personal introduction. Throughout your studies you may contact your trainer with any course-related query by logging into myIVY, telephone, LiveChat or video conference – based on your needs. As you may be juggling study with work or other commitments your trainer is also available to assist at designated times outside of business hours.

If you would like additional support you also have access to workshops, where you can gain one-on-one support from your trainer.  Workshop attendance is optional. (i)

Entry requirements

To enrol in Diploma courses with Ivy College, you will need the ability to read and write English to at least Year 12 level.

To show evidence of this ability, you will need to have satisfied the following:

  • During the enrolment process, demonstrate that you have the skills and capability to succeed in the course at least to the level of Year 12 by providing a copy of your Australian year 12 certificate, or completing the Diploma Entry Test.

All students are also required to have a unique email address and access to a computer with an internet connection.

Technology requirements

Once enrolled, you will complete your course work and assessment tasks through myIVY, the College’s online learning platform. To do this, you will need access to a computer that meets the following minimum systems requirements:

Operating system: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux

Software: Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest versions available for free download at Adobe website)

Internet: Supported browsers include Firefox 3+, Google Chrome 4+, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8, Opera 9+, Safari 3+ (download latest browser software for free online).  You will need a reliable internet connection, preferably Broadband (64 Kbit/sec or faster)

Access to a printer and digital camera/recording device is also required.

Educational Outcomes

On successful completion of this course you will be awarded the following nationally recognised qualification: ICA50315 Diploma of Information Technology Systems Administration by Study Group Australia Pty Ltd RTO Code 5806. This course can also be used as a pathway to continue your IT Systems Administration studies at Advanced Diploma or Bachelor level.
