Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal acknowledgment of your existing skills and knowledge.  It’s based on the premise that you do not need to undertake training for skills you already possess.

Your current skills and knowledge may have been obtained through:

  • Formal training
  • Work experience
  • Life experience

The RPL application process requires you to provide evidence of, or demonstrate, your current ability to perform the requirements of units of competency within your course.

If you have sufficient evidence that you have the required skills and knowledge then you may be granted RPL. Refer to Ivy College’s Recognition of Prior Learning policy and procedure for more detail.

RPL assessment fees do not include the cost of supplementary learning resources such as text books and beauty kits.

A separate Credit Transfer policy and procedure applies for applicants seeking credit transfer. Credit Transfer is the recognition of AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organisations. The units of competency contained therein must be equivalent and current.
